.NET 10 upgrade sprint
Upgrade to .NET 10 before support ends.
.NET 8 and .NET 9 stop receiving security fixes on 10 November 2026. I move one ASP.NET Core solution to .NET 10 for a fixed price and hand back a reviewed pull request with green CI.
until end of support · 10 Nov 2026
Upgrade solution to .NET 10
- Projects retargeted
- Packages updated
- Breaking changes fixed
- Build and tests green in CI
- Risk note attached
01 · Why now
The deadline is fixed. Your sprint capacity probably isn't.
-
No more security fixes
After 10 November 2026, .NET 8 and .NET 9 get no security or servicing updates. Apps keep running, on an unpatched runtime.
-
.NET 10 is the LTS target
.NET 10 is the current long-term support release, supported until November 2028. One move covers the next two years.
-
The tools are free, the days aren't
Retargeting is quick. The time goes into package compatibility, behaviour changes that only show up in tests, and CI and container images.
02 · Scope
Fixed scope, agreed before you pay.
If something falls outside it, you hear about it before any extra work starts.
Included

net8.0ornet9.0tonet10.0, up to 10 projects. - Update Microsoft and third-party NuGet packages to versions that support .NET 10.
- Fix compile errors and documented breaking changes that affect your code.
- Update
global.json, Dockerfile base images and the .NET setup in your CI. - Build and existing tests green in your CI.
- One pull request with a change log and a one-page risk note.

05 · Questions
Before you ask.
Can't we do this ourselves with Upgrade Assistant or Copilot?
Yes, and for a small app with good test coverage you probably should. The tools handle retargeting well. This sprint is for teams who have the tools but not the free days before 10 November.
What access do you need?
Write access to a branch in one repository and the ability to run your CI. No production credentials and no database access. I can work under your NDA.
What if our solution is bigger than the standard scope?
The scope check is free and the quote is fixed before you pay anything. If the work turns out larger once started, I tell you before doing anything outside the agreed scope.
Who does the work?
Furkan Tasci, a .NET and React engineer and founder of TORUT LTD. One person from scope check to handover.
